Treatment for Gestational Diabetes: Monitoring

Treat low blood sugar immediately even if you are not able to test your blood sugar level.

Rule of 15:

1.Test

2.If below 50, treat with 15 grams of rapid carbs

3.Wait 15 minutes

4.Test again

5.If still below 50, repeat steps 2-3.

6.When above 50, maintain glucose level
with meal or snack of CHO + Protein

Always carry a source of rapid-acting carbohydrate with you at all times, especially when driving or exercising.
