Meal Planning
During pregnancy the mother should:
- Limit caffeine to 1 cup per day or no more than 200mg
- Coffee, tea (green tea is better), chocolate
- Wash all raw produce
- Eat in moderation (6 oz. per week max):
- Canned light tuna, tuna steak, salmon, cod, Pollock and shrimp
Canned chunk light tuna generally has a lower amount of mercury than other tuna, but still should only be eaten in moderation.
