During pregnancy the mother should: apples and water

  • Limit caffeine to 1 cup per day or no more than 200mg
    • Coffee, tea (green tea is better), chocolate
  • Wash all raw produce
  • Eat in moderation (6 oz. per week max):
    • Canned light tuna, tuna steak, salmon, cod, Pollock and shrimp

Canned chunk light tuna generally has a lower amount of mercury than other tuna, but still should only be eaten in moderation.
