Fruit: berries, banana, apples

The portion size of fruit depends on the type:

  • Whole fruit- size of a tennis ball
  • ½ cup canned
  • ½ –1 cup fresh fruit
  • 2 Tbsp. dried fruit
  • Avoid all fruit before 10:00 a.m.
  • Avoid juices, unless being used to bring up a low blood sugar level.
