Taco Salad
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 medium head lettuce, shredded
- 3 tomatoes, diced
- 6 oz. salsa
- 12 oz. low-fat baked tortilla chips
- 6 oz. low-fat sour cream
- 6 oz. reduced-fat Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1.5 pounds 90% lean ground beef
- Brown the beef in a nonstick skillet until it crumbles.
- Drain the fat from the beef.
- Add the taco seasoning, salsa, and water.
- Reduce the heat and simmer.
- Layer the salad on 12 plates in the following order; chips, meat, tomato, sour cream, and cheese.
- Add salsa if desired.
